Definition : Respiratory function analyzers designed to assess the mechanics of the respiratory function in the nasal passages of adults and/or older children (typically older than 12 years of age). These analyzers use one of several techniques for directly measuring the volume, pressure, and airflow in the nose while breathing or indirectly by determining the patency of the nose canals using other techniques. Dedicated nasal respiratory function analyzers for respiratory breathing-resistance measurement and those using acoustic reflectometry are available.
