Definition : Computer aided detection systems designed to detect and classify areas in MRI breast images with abnormalities that may be indicative of breast cancer, such as micro calcifications, spiculated lesions, and other abnormal masses. These systems may include an image digitizer or a means to import digital information, a computer capable of using appropriate algorithms to process the information, and a display/and or printer that provides an image that shows the detected abnormalities in the MRI images.
