Oral Feeding Aids, Electromechanical

Definition : Oral feeding aids that employ electromechanical mechanisms to assist or enable disabled patients to feed themselves (i.e., oral self-feeding). These aids are typically a tabletop, electric-powered device that includes a semiautomated, push-button-operated mechanism that fills an attached spoon, moves it toward the oral cavity, and discards any leftover food.
