Detection Kits

Definition : Kits designed primarily for discovery and/or ascertainment (i.e., detection) of some physical, chemical, physiologic, or technical condition. These kits are not usually intended for accurate measurement and/or to display the numerical values of the conditions that are detected, although they can identify and provide rough estimates of the values and/or indicate when predetermined values have been reached or exceeded. Detection kits are used in healthcare applications and in emergency situations to indicate the presence of toxic materials, industrial contaminants, chemical or biological agents, and/or radiation-contaminated objects.
