Catheters, Biliary, Guiding

Definition : Biliary catheters designed to determine the length of stenting and for stent insertion. These catheters typically consist of a 6 Fr diameter Teflon tube of more than 200 cm in length that includes radiopaque bands at regular intervals from its distal tip. Guiding biliary catheters are also used for drainage in benign and malignant strictures of the biliary and/or pancreatic ducts.
