Definition : Physiologic analyzers that measure and evaluate some physical aspects of the ear's conductive apparatus, especially the detection of middle-ear fluid. These analyzers are used as adjuncts to visual (or pneumatic) otoscopy in diagnosing and managing middle ear disease, particularly in children, including obstructions and otitis media effusions; they are also used to evaluate stiffness or flaccidity of the tympanic membrane.
