Pharyngoscopes

Definition : Respiratory tract endoscopes designed for direct insertion through the nasal cavity into the air tract for visual examination, biopsy, and treatment of lesions of the pharynx pharyngeal end of the auditory tube. Pharyngoscopes usually consist of an outer sheath, a lighting system, and a working channel for catheters and operative devices; they may be flexible or rigid.
