Definition : Argon gas lasers designed for use in surgical procedures. These lasers typically emit energy at wavelengths of 488 and/or 514 nm (blue-green); they are usually operated in continuous-wave mode. Surgical argon lasers are frequently used in the treatment of vascular diseases, including the removal of vascular tumors.
