Footstools, Handrail

Definition : Footstools that include a tubular metallic structure, typically with the shape of an inverted U (handrail), that facilitates patient equilibrium while standing on the footstool. The handrail height is typically more than 75 cm (30 inches). Handrail footstools are used for patient safety (e.g., to help patient get off crutches and get into bed); sometimes they are also used as support for exercise.
