Definition : Eyeglasses designed with two lenses that filter out ultraviolet (UV) radiation mounted in a frame that holds the lenses at an appropriate position before the eyes. These eyeglasses typically consist of two protective lenses (e.g., absorbing, tinted, polarizing), a metal or plastic frame that is placed on the nose and attached to two hinged legs that are supported by the earlobes. The lenses may protect from different intensities of UV radiation in a given range of frequencies (e.g., ultraviolet A, B, or both).
